COST ANALYSIS/ROI
TAS Energy’s Turbine Air Systems make economic sense. In addition to improving the efficiency of a gas turbine, the total cost to generate megawatts (MWs) is lower. The blended non-fuel Operation & Maintenance (O&M) cost is lower. Increasing output by retrofitting existing plants eliminates the need for additional generation investment. With more output generated from existing facilities, the need for new, green field sites is reduced.
Approximately 1/3 the Cost of a New Peaker
Although price will be heavily dependent upon your gas turbine type, weather conditions, and other factors, our units total installed costs range between $300 to $375/kW and can be delivered in 18-32 Weeks. By comparison, new peaking power plants often exceed $1,000 /kW and have availabilities measured in years not weeks.
Ancillary Services Opportunities
In addition to providing our customers more megawatts, Turbine Air Systems added onto a gas turbine allows the plant operator greater access into the ancillary services markets with increased capacity reserve and instant regulation up/down capabilities.
Night Power Pricing with Thermal Energy Storage
In territories of high renewable generation, particularly wind resources, incorporating a Thermal Energy Storage(TES) tank with a Turbine Air Systems unit allows plant operators the ability to charge the tank with chilled water utilizing free,or low cost, night time power which can subsequently be dispatched the following day during peak pricing.
