Solar Thermal

Concentrated solar projects are not abundant in the U.S. largely due to financing and water supply difficulties.  TAS Energy is reinvigorating an old market with its advanced design solar-to-power (S2P) organic rankine cycle unit.

PRODUCT SPECIFICATIONS

Patented Efficiencies

TAS Energy’s Turbine Air Systems lead the industry in efficiency, performance and reliability. As market founders and leaders, TAS Energy’s patents allow our units to achieve efficiencies that aren’t achievable by any other company. Our patents allow us to help you get the most out of your gas turbines with the least parasitic power.

The Modular Single Source (Turnkey) Solution

TAS Energy has invested thousands of engineering hours to design modular TIC systems optimized for low life cycle cost and ultra high efficiency. The modular approach to manufacturing ensures performance reliability through repeatability, a streamlined supply chain, and a skilled workforce. Turbine Air Systems are recognized for high quality construction, reliability, and industry leading guarantees. TAS Energy’s single source accountability approach is carried through the design; manufacturing; project management; installation; commissioning; and warranty phases of a system.

Coil Design

TAS Energy’s Turbine Air Systems’ coil design achieves the appropriate cooling while ensuring that power-robbing pressure drops across the coil are kept to a minimum. Air speeds through the coil are carefully determined to ensure the integrity of the turbine compressor is maintained by preventing any water entrainment in the turbine inlet air.

Elimination of Risk

A modular solution manufactured and packaged at TAS Energy’s 250,000 square feet facility in Houston, Texas also eliminates risks faced by the traditional approach of onsite construction. These risks include weather risk, labor availability and skill set risk, material supply risk, risk in managing remote construction projects, and site installation safety risk. TAS Energy systems are prepackaged and designed for quick and safe installation. The base system is constructed at TAS Energy’s factory and are able to be shipped anywhere in the world. The cooling towers or air cooled condensers (depending on the application) are shipped directly to site from their respective manufacturing locations.

Project Schedule Reduced to Half

Factory manufactured modular TIC plants can shorten project schedule by up to 40%. TAS Energy employs an assembly line approach to building standard and custom engineered energy systems. All TAS Energy products are modular and skid mounted for easy shipment and installation. TAS Energy’s Turbine Air Systems for retrofit projects can be completed in as little as 40 weeks, with a plant outage under 2 weeks.

Power Professional Experience

Although TAS Energy has been the single largest provider of packaged centrifugal chillers in the world for over a decade, and refrigeration is one of our core competencies, many of TAS Energy’s employees, specifically engineers and managers, actually started their careers in the power and packaging industry. TAS Energy’s core competencies of power, refrigeration and packaging merge to form the most ideal expertise and skill set from management to engineering to assembly to merit global leadership in turbine inlet cooling systems.

Easy to Maintain and Operate

Turbine Air Systems are easy to maintain and, thanks to advanced control systems, can be completely automated in their operation. The packages are designed such that all major components are easily accessible and serviceable. Despite our industry leading, compact designs that ensure the smallest footprint, components such as fans, motors, pumps and compressors can all be removed and replaced without damaging the enclosure. TAS even has the ability to remotely monitor your equipment and provide periodic recommendations and alerts to optimize the performance and longevity of the equipment.

Serving Markets Globally

TAS Energy has completed significant projects globally on the most advanced gas turbines in the world. With offices in North America, the Middle East and Southeast Asia, TAS Energy has the knowledge and experience needed to comply with international codes and regulations. Every system produced by TAS Energy is backed by a global service and maintenance support team. We have the ability to remotely monitor system performance through our advanced system controls and software. TAS Energy service engineers are experienced in system optimization, commissioning, and ongoing maintenance requirements. This commitment to service ensures that your Turbine Air System continues to operate as designed throughout the life-cycle of the unit.
